Hezbollah will fight to prevent Israel from occupying south Lebanon, says one of its MPs
Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah asserted, in a statement reported by the state-run National News Agency and Reuters, that the party will continue to fight Israel to prevent its army from occupying southern Lebanon, stating that such an occupation would constitute an "existential threat" to Lebanon as a state.
"Your children are currently waging the battle to preserve Lebanon's existence within its internationally recognized borders against the renewed Israeli project to move Israel's borders to the Litani River," he declared at a press conference in Parliament.
"This enemy believes it can repeat the same experiment to realize its historical dream, which will remain an impossible dream. It has been surprised by the state of preparedness of the resistance, its presence on the ground, the power of its missiles, and the courage of its fighters," he continued.
“During the fourth week of the offensive, the enemy failed to consolidate its new occupation points. It entered border villages that had already been destroyed, taking advantage of the resistance’s adherence to the ceasefire, even though no combatants were present,” the elected official emphasized.
“The occupying army bombed bridges as it did in 2006, targeted electrical and water infrastructure, destroyed aspects of civilian life, and displaced residents to establish a buffer zone. But this will not allow it to impose its occupation. Faced with this choice between submission and a high cost, we have no other option but resistance,” he added.
Fadlallah then asserted that Israel “was not waiting for any pretext and openly stated that it was preparing this plan,” adding that only its “timing remained uncertain, before or after the war against Iran,” which began on Feb. 28.
“Lebanon is at a decisive moment, threatened in its existence as a state. This requires responsibility, clear thinking and national unity. This is not the time for internal divisions or sectarian tensions. The only threat today is Israeli aggression,” he further noted.

"We call on the Lebanese government to take concrete and meaningful measures against Hezbollah, whose representatives still hold ministerial positions within the government," the Israeli minister concluded.
Appeals against asylum applications from Iranians, Lebanese suspended
The National Court of Asylum (CNDA) has suspended appeals by asylum seekers from Iran and Lebanon to avoid the risk of their applications being rejected, the court announced Tuesday, explaining that it is awaiting stabilization of the security situation in both countries.
The Court, responsible for reviewing the cases of asylum seekers whose applications have been rejected by the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA), made this decision "about ten days ago" in light of the ongoing events in the Middle East, its president, Thomas Andrieu, stated at a press conference.
European law stipulates, in particular, that it is possible to grant protection to asylum seekers from areas experiencing "indiscriminate violence." It is therefore essential to ensure that those who have appealed the rejection of their applications by OFPRA cannot obtain asylum on this new ground, he explained.

However, the immediate concern of the French armed forces has been to find solutions so that France can protect its citizens in transit in the region,” he added, according to the transcript of his remarks reported by Reuters and French media.
