Health Minister Rakan Nasreddine said after meeting Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh on Wednesday that the death toll of the Israeli war on Lebanon has now reached 957 people killed and 2,391 injured, according to the state-run National News Agency.
Nasreddine added that "Lebanon is suffering from the aggression and the targeting of civilians, but the dignity and pride of the Lebanese people are immense."
"This is what we have seen in the eyes and words of the displaced and the hosts who opened their homes," he said, adding that the "Health Ministry and the other concerned ministries will continue providing the necessary services."
The war between Hezbollah and Israel, which started on March 2, keeps escalating as Israeli attacks have been expanding. On Wednesday, the capital, Beirut, was subjected to several airstrikes, killing at least 12 people.
