The Gaza Health Ministry and Civil Defense announced Sunday that an Israeli strike killed four Palestinians in the center of the Gaza Strip, while a Hamas delegation visiting Cairo called on Israel to implement the cease-fire agreement.
"The Israeli army committed a horrific massacre in the Gaza Strip, killing four civilians, including a pregnant woman, after bombing their house in the Nuseirat refugee camp," in the center of the territory, "in blatant violation" of the cease-fire, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said in a statement.
The Civil Defense in the territory also reported the same death toll of four.
This strike occurred during the visit to Cairo by a Hamas delegation, which arrived Saturday in the Egyptian capital and is scheduled to meet Sunday with Egyptian officials, according to a source within the movement interviewed by AFP.
According to this source, the delegation has already met with the new senior representative for Gaza, Bulgarian diplomat Nikolay Mladenov.
At least 663 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire or strikes since the cease-fire began on Oct. 10, 2025, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, which also reports 1,762 wounded and 756 bodies recovered from under rubble.
In total, Israel has killed at least 72,239 Palestinians since it began its genocidal offensive on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023.
The Israeli army, for its part, has reported five soldiers killed in its ranks since the start of the truce.
"They discussed ongoing Israeli violations, incursions and crimes," the source said, adding that Hamas emphasized "the need to advance implementation of the cease-fire agreement," particularly its second phase, and to open Gaza's crossings to allow delivery of humanitarian aid.
The United States announced in mid-January the move to the second phase of Donald Trump's plan to bring a definitive end to the war.
This phase notably calls for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, and the deployment of an international stabilization force.
The Israeli army still occupies more than half of the territory of the besieged enclave, behind a "yellow line" established by the Trump plan, while Hamas refuses to lay down arms under the conditions imposed by Israel.
