Fuel prices in Lebanon continued to soar as regional war push global oil rates higher.
Crude oil has topped $100 a barrel in recent days for the first time since 2022, driven by concerns over a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and damage to energy infrastructure.
On Tuesday, Lebanon's Energy Ministry published new tariffs showing a sharp increase in domestic fuel costs. Gasoline prices rose by 90,000 Lebanese Lira, roughly equivalent to $1.
Here are the new rates and a comparison with last Friday
– 20 liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL2,004,000 (+LL90,000).
– 20 liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL2,047,000 pounds (+LL90,000).
– 20 liters of diesel, for vehicles: LL1,869,000 pounds (+LL218,000).
– Kiloliter of diesel, used to supply private electric generators: $909.20 (+$70.91).
– Household gas cylinder: LL1,601,000 (+LL184,000).
