The Israeli army continued its heavy bombardment campaign overnight from March 6 to March 7 against southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, although it did not target Beirut’s southern suburbs, a first since the escalation began.
The deadliest strikes occurred in Nabi Sheet (Baalbeck district) in the Bekaa, where at least 26 people were killed, according to our correspondent in the region. The bombardment coincided with an Israeli commando operation aimed at recovering the remains of Israeli pilot Ron Arad, who went missing in Lebanon in 1986.
In southern Lebanon, three people were also killed in Israeli strikes in the Nabatieh region, two in a strike on Kfar Tibnit (Nabatieh district) and one in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, according to our correspondent.
