Turkey urged “all parties” to put an end to the spiral of violence triggered by the U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran, following a phone call between Turkey’s foreign minister and his Iranian counterpart.

Turkey called for an “urgent” resumption of dialogue to ease tensions.

“We call on all parties to immediately cease hostilities,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement, warning that these events “jeopardize the future of our region and global stability.”

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan immediately contacted his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, by phone, as well as six other senior diplomats, to discuss ways to “put an end to the attacks,” a ministry source said.

“The recent escalation of tensions is unacceptable. It is essential to urgently reactivate mechanisms for dialogue and negotiation,” presidential communications director Burhanettin Duran wrote on X.

Turkey, he said, will continue its efforts “to reduce tensions through diplomatic channels.”
