The Interior and Tourism ministries have issued a circular raising the maximum rate for valet parking services to 400,000 Lebanese liras. Since February 2025, the official fee for valet services in Beirut has been capped at 350,000 LL, but in practice, the amounts demanded have varied by location.

The new measures are "part of efforts to regulate parking service rates and to set an official rate for this service, in line with applicable laws, and the decision will be implemented as soon as it is circulated to the relevant authorities," the circular said. The amount is to be paid once the car owner is handed back their vehicle, after the presentation of a receipt, the circular added.

During a meeting in mid-January, Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar emphasized "the need to take executive measures and strictly enforce the decision regulating the work of valet parking attendants." A few days earlier, the Interior Ministry had called on the various districts to enforce the law governing these services, which are largely unregulated in Lebanese cities, where many businesses use valets who occupy public parking spaces.
