Fighting between the Syrian army and Kurdish forces in Aleppo has displaced about 155,000 people since Tuesday, the governor of the major northern Syrian city said on Saturday.

The displaced residents fled the predominantly Kurdish neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, which have been affected by the violence, seeking refuge in other parts of the city or elsewhere in the province, Governor Azzam al-Gharib said at a press conference.
