BEIRUT — The Interior Ministry called on the country's various governorates to enforce the law regarding valet services which are notoriously unregulated across cities in Lebanon, with businesses often hiring valets for public parking areas.
The ministry's memo addressed the governors of Beirut, Mount Lebanon, North Lebanon, Akkar, South Lebanon, Bekaa, Baalbeck-Hermel and Nabatieh, as well as to the Internal Security Forces (ISF).
The ministry is requesting that the governors provide it with complete lists of companies offering these services along with their clients, and is asking the ISF to enforce the law, following a surge in violations by valet companies.
In its memo, the ministry lists these violations, denouncing — among other issues — companies operating without a permit, monopolizing access to public roads, or failing to provide customers with receipts.
