Padre Guilherme, whose full name is Guilherme Peixoto, is a 51-year-old Portuguese Catholic priest and DJ. He is expected in Beirut on Saturday for a mass scheduled at the Saint Joseph University of Kaslik (USEK) and a concert at the Beirut club AHM, a nightclub located on the waterfront. His latest track, released on Jan. 1, is titled "We Want an Unarmed and Disarming Peace."The upcoming event has triggered reactions in Lebanon: a group of 18 people, including clergy, submitted an order on Jan. 4 to the summary affairs judge in Beirut to seek a ban on the concert, "due to its violation of morals and Church teachings and its distortion of the image of the Christian religion and its rites," according to the document.
