You arrive by car, and before orientating yourself, you see it: a blue, contemporary structure rising from the landscape, bearing the word qalam (pen). A single stroke. A declaration. The Lawh Wa Qalam: M.F. Husain Museum does not announce itself loudly, but rather reveals itself slowly, like one of Husain’s figures emerging from color.You walk up several steps. A large arched gate greets you, edged with gold. Inside, Husain appears before you, not as a photograph or a plaque, but alive, speaking.
