NORTH LEBANON — While much of Lebanon was focusing on the movements of Pope Leo XIV during his visit to the country, the Meydan al-Rayes racetrack on hosted its third horse race on Sunday since its opened a little over a year ago in Kfar Malki, Akkar district.
According to L'Orient Today's correspondent in the North, 74 horses took part in the event's 11 scheduled races, which were organized under the auspices of the Union of Arqa Municipalities, headed by Mohammad Haddara, whose brother, Ahmad Haddara, built the equestrian center where the track was established.
A significant number of the horses that competed came from Akkar, where many breeders are based
