“We will not let this happen. We have already provided all the necessary documentation; we know we have nothing to be ashamed of,” said Aymen Rezgui, editor-in-chief of Tunisian blog Nawaat. Nawaat, like dozens of other associations and media, has recently been suspended for a month by Tunisian authorities. This is the first time since its inception in 2004 that the blog has faced such an extreme case of censorship.“We have launched a social media campaign to prevent ourselves from being silenced. We are encouraging several partner sites to republish our articles and anyone who supports us to change their profile picture or share our articles,” he said, as the editorial team is now prohibited from publishing new content or even meeting.
