Washington announces partial suspension of certain sanctions against Syria
Washington has announced a 180-day suspension of certain sanctions imposed on Syria under the Caesar Act, according to the U.S. Treasury Department, while U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa to the White House, Reuters reports.
This measure replaces a previous exemption put in place on May 23, the Treasury said.
Israeli army builds wall on Lebanese territory
The Israeli army has begun building a concrete wall on Lebanese territory along the Blue Line, between Avivim (northern Israel) and the occupied Lebanese site of Jal al-Deir, opposite the towns of Maroun al-Ras and Aitaroun, according to our correspondent in the region.
The new site, recently set up by Israeli forces on a portion of Lebanese territory in Jabal al-Bat, is located about one km from the border.
Contacted by L'Orient-Le Jour, a source from UNIFIL said it had "taken note of reports that Israel is building a new wall between Aitaroun and Maroun al-Ras." Based on photos posted online showing "blue barrels placed in front of the wall," the same source said that these elements "indicate that the work is taking place south of the Blue Line."
The U.N. force also called on Israeli forces "to withdraw from all areas of Lebanese territory where its forces are still present and to allow the complete redeployment of the Lebanese Army."

"We are determined to enforce the existing cease-fire agreements with an iron fist against those who seek to destroy us, and you can see what is happening every day in Lebanon," Netanyahu told members of the Knesset.

Funeral in Houmin Fawqa for a Hezbollah fighter killed in Israeli strike
Hezbollah organized the funeral of one of its fighters, Abbas Jawad, in Houmin Fawqa, Iqlim al-Tuffah (Nabatieh), who was targeted and killed in an Israeli strike on Sunday.

2 killed in Israeli drone strike targeting Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, in Gaza
A Gaza Civil Defense official told Al Jazeera that two people were killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army confirmed in a statement that it had killed two people "who crossed the Yellow Line in the southern Gaza Strip," stating that they "posed an immediate threat" to its soldiers.
Al Jazeera's local correspondents later reported that a child was among the two victims.
This brings to 243 the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza by the Israeli army after a month of cease-fire.
Strikes on Lebanon: Israeli army says attacked Hezbollah infrastructure
The Israeli army said it targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon, including a rocket launch site and strategic weapons depots.
In a message on X, accompanied by a video of the strikes, the Israeli army said it carried out the bombings "with the support of military intelligence."
In the South, the targeted site "was used for launching rockets and had been the site of terrorist activity by the organization in recent months. Weapons intended for use against Israel were destroyed there," the army wrote. It also said it attacked the Bekaa Valley, including "sites used for the production and storage of strategic weapons."
Southern Lebanon: Explosions in Ansar due to fire igniting war-era munitions
Explosions were heard in the vicinity of the town of Ansar (Nabatieh district) following the detonation of several unexploded ordnance dating back to the war, after a fire broke out in the area.
Authorities warned residents of the danger and urged them to avoid the road connecting Ansar to Zrarieh, where the flames are spreading, while civil defense and firefighting teams are currently working to contain the blaze.
Israeli strikes continue in Jezzine district, explosions heard throughout area
Israeli fighter jets also bombed the Qatrani heights, also in the Jezzine district, according to our correspondent.
Drones are flying low over the area, while the explosions from the raids are being heard as far away as the Nabatieh and Marjayoun districts.
Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon: 15 Raids, approximately 25 missiles fired by Israeli aircraft
Approximately 15 raids, using 25 missiles, targeted hills and valleys in the southern Jezzine district, between the Marjayoun and Nabatieh regions of southern Lebanon, in less than 30 minutes, according to our correspondent.
These raids occurred at the same time as classes were ending in schools and universities in the area, and the explosions were heard in several places near Jezzine.
In Kfar Roummane, in the Nabatieh district, a woman reported that her house "shook" and the doors rattled, while smoke blanketed the hills of the Jezzine district.
"I saw the planes flying over the targets. The scene unfolded before our eyes, and we were very afraid that the missiles would hit us," she added.

Israeli explosives were found in the rubble of houses destroyed last night in the border village of Houla (Marjayoun district), according to residents quoted by our correspondent.
Israeli strikes on Hermel, Anti-Lebanon Mountains
Several Israeli airstrikes also targeted the Shaara region in the Anti-Lebanon Mountains, the range located east of the Bekaa Valley on the border with Syria, as well as Hermel.

Israel handed over remains of 15 Palestinian prisoners to Gaza authorities
In accordance with the cease-fire agreement, Israel handed over the remains of 15 Palestinian prisoners to the Gaza authorities in exchange for the body of an Israeli soldier surrendered the previous day by Hamas.
A medical source told the Wafa news agency that the bodies were transported by Red Cross teams to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
This is the 12th transfer of bodies to Gaza under the agreement, bringing the total number of Palestinian prisoners' remains returned to 315, according to Wafa.
Only 89 of these bodies have been identified so far, due to their condition and the lack of identification resources in Gaza. Most of them show signs of torture, the Palestinian news agency added.
Israeli air force strikes, shelling of Gaza City
As the Gaza cease-fire enters its second month this Monday, Israeli attacks continue across the Palestinian enclave.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, Israeli aircraft carried out strikes on eastern Gaza City early this morning, with shelling also reported in the same area, along with the demolition of homes.

Israeli parliament to vote today on bill to impose death penalty on Palestinians accused of 'terrorism'
The Israeli parliament is scheduled to convene for the first reading vote on a bill proposed by a far-right lawmaker that would impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners accused of "terrorism," according to Israeli media.
This measure, championed by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, aims to impose capital punishment on any "terrorist convicted of murder motivated by racism or hatred, in circumstances indicating that the act was committed with the intent to harm the State of Israel," according to the amendment approved last week in committee.
The amendment specifies that the death penalty would be "mandatory, and not at the judge's discretion."

Gaza: Israeli army continues demolition of residential buildings in Khan Younis
The Israeli army has carried out further demolition operations on residential buildings in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, according to Al Jazeera.
The pace of these demolitions has "increased considerably," according to Hamdan Radwan, the head of the Bani Suheila municipality, as quoted by the Qatari media outlet.
UAE will 'probably not' participate in stabilization force in Gaza
The United Arab Emirates will “probably not” join the stabilization force planned in Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza without a “clear framework,” a senior official from the Gulf state said Monday.

South Lebanon: Israeli army demolishes 2 buildings in Houla
Overnight, the Israeli army detonated two buildings in the eastern part of Houla, a village bordering the Marjayoun district, according to our correspondent.
