A fire that broke out early Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of ABC Mall in Ashrafieh was quickly brought under control by Civil Defense teams deployed to the scene. Contacted by L’Orient-Le Jour, ABC management explained that “the electrical panel in the parking area caught fire,” but confirmed that the mall itself was not damaged.
Images shared on social media show a thick cloud of smoke rising above the mall. Eyewitnesses reported that the road leading to the parking lot was temporarily closed, while Civil Defense teams remained on site several hours after the incident.
The shopping center itself remained open as usual.
