Dozens of protesters showed their solidarity with Iran on Friday in the southern suburbs of Beirut and Saida (South Lebanon), as the war between Israel and the Islamic Republic continues.

In the southern suburbs, Hezbollah organized a demonstration in front of the al-Qaem complex "to denounce the Israeli-American aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and to reject Zionist brutality and its massacres, from Gaza to Iran." Dozens of protesters took part, holding party and Iranian flags

"We renew our allegiance to our leader, and we say to all Lebanese that when we gather now to defend one of the reference points for Muslims in the world, and one of the leaders of free and honorable people, we evoke all free and honorable people and the issues that concern us in the present and future," said Hezbollah MP Ali Ammar, referring to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who American and Israeli officials have threatened to assassinate.

In Saida, a crowd also took part in the sit-in organized by Hezbollah, which included students, activists and residents of the city. Holding flags of the party and Iran, as well as photos of the Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei, the demonstrators denounced the Israeli aggression against Iran. "Death to America and Israel," they chanted, calling Muslim countries to "unite and stand up against this unjust aggression."

'All Islamic countries are in danger'

Hezbollah official Sheikh Sadeq Naboulsi denounced the threats against Ali Khamenei.

"Any attack on the imam would explode all streets, all trenches, and all squares," he stated. "Let the enemies assume the risks of this challenge, as nothing of the United States' presence in our region will be spared, neither their embassies, nor their bases, nor their armies, nor their soldiers, who will all be threatened and exposed to danger."

Sheikh Naboulsi stated that "when Iran is in danger, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and all Muslim countries are in danger."

"This battle is that of the nation. Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, all Palestinian factions, and each of us are part of this nation," he added.

Referring to the comments made by Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem, who stated the day before that his party stood "with Iran" and would act as it deemed "appropriate," the sheikh said that the party "did not know the path of despair, and only knew one, the path to Jerusalem."

Meanwhile, in the Bekaa, residents and business and property owners affected by the Israeli offensive in the region held a peaceful sit-in on the Rayak-Baalbeck highway, demanding "the payment of compensation for the delay in restoration work," according to L'Orient Today's correspondent.
