BEIRUT — The president of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, has called for a joint parliamentary committee session on Thursday at 11 a.m., according to a statement released Monday by his press office.
The committees invited include Finance and Budget, Administration and Justice, Public Health, Labor and Social Affairs, National Defense, Interior and Municipalities, Information Technology, as well as Media and Telecommunications.
“The session will focus on the examination of several legislative proposals, including one aiming to subject Ministry of Information contractors to retirement legislation. Another proposes to amend paragraph [b] of article 37 of law no. 367 of August 1, 1994, governing the practice of the pharmaceutical profession, the statement specifies. The committees will also study a text aimed at strengthening the prerogatives of municipalities, as well as a proposal to create a national agency for digital transformation.”
The joint committee sessions of the Lebanese Parliament are meetings that bring together several parliamentary committees to study, debate, and recommend bills that cover multiple sectors or areas of expertise.
