In Tel Aviv, alert level lowered, population can leave shelters, announces army

BEIRUT — The Israeli army announced Sunday afternoon that the alert level had been lowered after calling on the population to shelter following a detection of missile fire targeting Israel from Iran.

"Following the situation assessment, the Home Front Command [Passive Defense] has announced that it is now permitted to leave protected spaces in all regions of the country," says a statement published by the army around 4:30 p.m. (1:30 p.m. GMT).
