BEIRUT — Ten people have died and more than 200 have been injured since Saturday night in Iranian missile and drone strikes on Israel, according to rescue services, police, and hospitals.

This new toll brings the total number of dead to 13 since the start of the Iranian attacks on Friday, in response to Israel's massive attack on the Islamic Republic. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office confirmed this total of 13 deaths on Sunday morning.

Two women aged 69 and 80, as well as a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, died in Bat Yam in the Tel Aviv region where the attack also left 99 injured, including four seriously, according to Magen David Adom (MDA), the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross. Two other people were killed in this strike, according to a report provided by police to journalists on site. Searches are ongoing as seven people are missing, stated police commander Daniel Hadad.

In the southwest of Galilee, a three-story building was destroyed in Tamra, and the MDA announced that three women had been killed. Then the Rambam Hospital confirmed to AFP that a fourth woman had died in this strike, with her death declared at this Haifa healthcare facility. One of the four people killed in Tamra is a young 13-year-old girl, according to Mr. Netanyahu's office. West of Jerusalem, in the Shfelah plain, at least 37 injured, including two seriously, were recorded by the MDA, mainly around Rehovot, where a man was found alive under the rubble of a building.

The Israeli army has since Friday been conducting an unprecedented series of strikes on Iran with the stated aim of preventing the Islamic Republic from acquiring a nuclear bomb, targeting hundreds of Iranian military and nuclear sites. Iran has retaliated with volleys of ballistic missiles and drones.
