Over 200 pro-Palestinian activists arrested in Cairo before a march to Gaza

BEIRUT — Over 200 activists of various nationalities who came to Egypt to participate in an international march to Gaza were arrested at their hotel or detained at Cairo airport, Seif Abu Kishk, a spokesperson for the organizing collective, told AFP on Thursday.

Israel on Wednesday urged Egyptian authorities to ban any pro-Palestinian "provocation" on its territory, as two militant actions are planned: the "Global March to Gaza," starting Friday from Cairo, and the "Soumoud" caravan, a convoy that left Tunis to head to the Gaza Strip.
