BEIRUT — The Palestinian Telecommunications Ministry stated Thursday that telephone and internet networks were cut off throughout the Gaza Strip due to an "attack on the last main fiber optic line still in service" in the enclave.
"This dangerous escalation against telecommunications infrastructure threatens to completely cut the Gaza Strip off from the outside world," said the ministry in a statement, which depends on the Palestinian Authority based in Ramallah, accusing Israel of being behind the attack.
