Enacted on Nov. 27, 2024, after over a year of Israeli airstrikes, launched on Oct. 8, 2023, and a ground incursion into Lebanon, the Lebanese cease-fire agreement marks six turbulent months on Tuesday.From its onset, the truce was breached almost daily by Israel, which carried out strikes in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa and three times in Beirut’s southern suburbs.Under the terms of the agreement, Hezbollah was to reposition its forces north of the Litani River — roughly 30 kilometers from the southern border — and dismantle its remaining military infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
