Two Palestinian sources told AFP on Friday that leaders of Palestinian factions close to the former Syrian regime and Iran had left the country due to "restrictions" from the new authorities in Damascus.

These factions, which had significant freedom of movement under Bashar al-Assad, "have fully handed over their weapons" to the authorities, one of these sources specified. These restrictions come as Washington has asked Damascus to take action against Tehran's allies.
