Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs: Hezbollah, Iran under maximum pressure

Israel carried out an unprecedented attack on Sunday against Beirut's southern suburbs. Although two earlier strikes had already hit the areas around the capital at the end of March and early April — despite the unilateral "cease-fire" in effect since November — this latest strike was not a response to fire from Lebanese soil. The attack appeared aimed at reminding both, Hezbollah and the Lebanese state, of Israel's rules of engagement.
