BEIRUT — A dispute between two families in the Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhood in North Lebanon's Tripoli escalated into an exchange of gunfire on Thursday, injuring three people, including a young girl who was shot in the leg, L'Orient Today's local correspondent reported.
The wounded were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A shop window was also damaged during the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation.
Despite ongoing security efforts, armed clashes remain frequent in Tripoli, often stemming from personal disputes, family rivalries or broader communal tensions, highlighting the widespread proliferation of unregulated weapons.
