White House paid tribute on Monday to Pope Francis after his death with a brief message on X stating: "May Pope Francis rest in peace."
The message is accompanied by photos of the late pope meeting President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, the latter having been received for a few minutes by Francis on Sunday, who passed away at the age of 88 on Monday morning.
