Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad released a video Wednesday showing an Israeli hostage alive, in which he appeals to the Israeli government and U.S. President Donald Trump to secure his release.

Israeli media identified him as Rom Braslavski from Jerusalem, who was abducted by Hamas-led militants from the Nova music festival during their attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.

In the nearly seven-minute video, the hostage — appearing to speak under duress — lifts his shirt to reveal scratch marks on his skin.

He gestures frequently with his hands as he pleads for his release. He also describes enduring severe conditions, citing a lack of food and water.

Since March 2, Israel has blocked the entry of all humanitarian aid to Gaza.

On Wednesday, Israel's defense minister, Israel Katz, reiterated the continuation of the aid block, stating, "Israel's policy is clear: no humanitarian aid will enter Gaza, and blocking this aid is one of the main pressure levers preventing Hamas from using it as a tool with the population."

During the Oct. 7 attack, Palestinian militants abducted 251 people to Gaza. Of those, 58 remain in captivity, including 34 whom the Israeli military says are deceased.

Israel's military offensive killed over 50,000 people in Gaza.
