The Syrian Foreign Ministry denounced a "flagrant violation" of its sovereignty following a deadly Israeli incursion into the south of the country.

In a statement, the ministry "condemned the continued Israeli aggression against Syrian territory," including "the dangerous escalation" which, it said, killed "six civilians" in the west of Daraa province, denouncing "a flagrant violation of national sovereignty."

More than half a million children in Yemen are suffering from the deadliest form of malnutrition, UNICEF has warned.

The conflict in Yemen is "a crisis characterized by hunger, deprivation and, today, a worrying escalation," UNICEF representative in Yemen, Peter Hawkins, said at a press briefing.

Speaking from the capital, Sanaa, he said that "one in two children under the age of five currently suffers from acute malnutrition," including "more than 537,000 suffering from severe acute malnutrition," the most deadly form of malnutrition. It is "a terrible, life-threatening condition that is entirely preventable," Hawkin said.

The health ministry in the Gaza Strip said 792 people have been killed since Israeli bombardments resumed on the Palestinian territory a week ago, including 62 in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, the ministry reported 792 deaths and 1,663 injuries since the resumption of Israeli strikes, bringing the total death toll since the start of the war on Oct. 7, 2023, to 50,144.

The Israeli president said he was "shocked" to see that the issue of hostages held in the Gaza Strip was no longer among the country's priorities, reported AFP.

"I'm quite shocked to see how suddenly the hostage issue is no longer at the top of the priority list or the news," Isaac Herzog said in a video released by his office. He stressed the importance of continuing efforts to "bring the hostages home, every last one."

An Israeli drone strike in Qaaqaiyet al-Jisr (Nabatieh) killed a "Hezbollah official" last night, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent in south Lebanon and the Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Health.

An Israeli drone struck a car in the center of the village of Qaaqaiyet al-Jisr, causing it to catch fire. The driver, who was killed in the strike, was a Hezbollah official identified as Hassan Kamal Halawi.

The Israeli army claimed responsibility for the attack this morning, saying it killed "the commander of Hezbollah's southern front anti-tank missile unit."

"The Israeli army attacked and eliminated Hassan Kamal Halawi, the commander of the anti-tank missile unit of Hezbollah's Southern Front, in the Nabatieh region of south Lebanon," wrote the army's Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, on X. He also accused the victim of having "encouraged numerous terrorist plots against Israel during the war" and claimed that the latter was "responsible for transporting terrorist agents and supplying them with weapons in southern Lebanon."

Adraee claimed that in recent months, Halawi continued to work "on terrorist plots against Israel's internal front."

Yesterday evening, before this strike, Israeli drones flew extensively over the villages of Nabatieh, Iqlim al-Touffah and Sour, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent.

 The Civil Defense in Gaza announced 14 deaths in Israeli strikes early this morning.

"More than 20 airstrikes carried out by the Israeli air force in different areas of the Gaza Strip have left at least 14 martyrs, including several children and women," said Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for the rescue organization.

According to him, nine people were killed at dawn in the governorate of Khan Younis, including a family of five, the two parents and their three boys.

The Israeli army announced that it carried out a strike in southern Syria in response to gunfire after local Syrian authorities reported at least five deaths in bombings attributed to Israel, AFP reports.

Israeli soldiers "identified several terrorists who opened fire towards their positions from southern Syria. The soldiers returned fire and the air force struck the terrorists," the army said in a statement.
