The Israeli army arrests "No Other Land" director
The Israeli army has arrested Hamdan Ballal, a Palestinian co-director of the Oscar-winning documentary film "No Other Land," after he was violently assaulted by Israeli settlers, Haaretz reports. "Hamdan Ballal was placed in an ambulance for treatment, but when Israeli soldiers arrived on the scene, they took him away and arrested him," continues the Israeli media outlet.
Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, another co-director of the film, denounced the assault on X, claiming that Hamdan Ballal had been "lynched" and suffered injuries to his head and abdomen.
"A group of settlers just lynched Hamdan Ballal," he wrote. They beat him up and he suffers from open wounds to the head and abdomen. Soldiers burst into the ambulance he had called and took him away. There has been no news of him since."
Rocket fired from Gaza intercepted by Israeli army
The Israeli army says its air defense system intercepted a rocket launched from Gaza toward southern Israel. Times of Israel reports that sirens were triggered in Sderot and Nir Am, villages located in the "Gaza Envelope" surrounding the besieged enclave. It added that there were no reports of injuries or damage. Earlier, the Israeli army intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, the shrapnel of which fell just outside Jerusalem.
American military leak
The White House confirmed that the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic was mistakenly included in an ultra-confidential focus group of senior U.S. officials, devoted to strikes against the Houthis.
"It appears at this time that the chain of messages reported in the article is genuine, and we are investigating how a number was mistakenly added," said National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes, after journalist Jeffrey Goldberg revealed that he had received the detailed attack plan for the March 15 American raids against the Yemini group in advance via the Signal messaging service.
U.N. says Israel responsible for attack on Gaza facility
The strikes that hit U.N. buildings in Gaza last week, killing a Bulgarian employee, were caused by "an Israeli tank," said the U.N. secretary-general's spokesperson.
"According to the information currently available, the strikes that hit a set of U.N. buildings in Deir al-Balah on March 19 were caused by an Israeli tank," said Stéphane Dujarric, adding that the U.N. had decided to temporarily reduce the number of its international employees in the Palestinian territory.
Missle from Yemen triggers Israeli sirens, interceptions sends shrapnel flying
The Israeli army announced in a post on X that alarm sirens were triggered in Tel Aviv and central Israel after a projectile was launched toward the territory from Yemen. The Houthis have been firing missiles at Israeli territory and commercial ships associated with Israel and the U.S. in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid Israel's deadly onslaught there.
The Israeli army said it had intercepted the missile before it reached Israeli territory, but several pieces of shrapnel from the mid-air explosion landed in the city of Beit Shemesh, outside Jerusalem, according to Times of Israel. No major damage was caused, and there were no injuries, according to first responders.
Five Palestinians killed in new Israeli attack on Khan Younis
At least five Palestinians were killed by an Israeli drone strike on a house in Khan Younis, in the Qizan al-Najjar neighborhood of the southern Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reports.
The Qatari media outlet added that artillery fire and other air strikes by the Israeli army targeted tents sheltering displaced people in the Batn al-Sameen neighborhood, west of the city, injuring several people.
Hamas releases video of two hostages
In a video released by Hamas on its Telegram channel, two hostages, Elkana Bohbot and Yosef-Haim Ohana, both kidnapped from the Supernova music festival on Oct. 7, criticized the Israeli government for relaunching its war against Gaza on March 18, saying "that attack could have killed us," and made emotional pleas for information about their conditions to be shared with the public.
"We know they are telling you that they intend to send us home," Yosef-Haim Ohana said, "but know that an attack like the one that happened yesterday was the closest thing to my death and the death of those with me."
Israel accuses Hamas of using these videos as psychological warfare, while Hamas accuses Israel of killing its own in the bombings that have targeted most of the besieged enclave.
The death toll from the Israeli airstrikes that continued throughout the day in the Gaza Strip now stands at 51, medical sources told Al-Jazeera.
Two Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli airstrikes
Palestinian journalists Mohammed Mansour, a correspondent for Palestine Today, and Hossam Shabat, a contributor to Al Jazeera Mubasher, have both been killed today in Israeli airstrikes. Mansour was targeted in an attack on a house in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, while Shabat was killed in an airstrike on his car in northern Gaza.
Since the conflict began, at least 208 journalists have lost their lives in Israeli attacks across the enclave.
Israeli army investigates explosion at Turkish hospital in Gaza
The Israeli army launched an investigation on Monday into the explosion at the Turkish Hospital in central Gaza, which had stopped functioning as a hospital. There are suspicions that a senior Israeli army commander ordered the demolition of the building without the necessary authorization.
Situation in south Lebanon

Israel open's fire on 'safe zone' in south Gaza
Reports in the past hour indicate that Israeli artillery has bombed the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in south Gaza, near Rafah. Eyewitnesses report an advance by Israeli troops on the al-Mawasi camp along the coast, where residents of Rafah were ordered to flee yesterday.
Germany 'extremely concerned' about civilian casualties in Gaza
Berlin has expressed being "extremely concerned" about reports of "numerous" civilian casualties in Gaza since the resumption of Israeli military operations in Palestine.
"This is extremely worrying, as it not only prevents the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza, but it also has the consequence of worsening the humanitarian situation in the camps," stated Christian Wagner, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, urging the Israeli government to restore humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip.
Iran open to 'indirect' negotiations with US
Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated on Monday that his country is open to "indirect" negotiations with the United States, following an ultimatum issued by President Donald Trump for a new nuclear agreement.
"The path is open for indirect negotiations," said Araghchi, while rejecting direct talks with the United States "as long as the other party's approach toward the Islamic Republic has not changed."

EU responds to Israeli strikes on Lebanon and Syria
Israeli airstrikes on Syria and Lebanon could lead to "a new escalation" in the region, warned EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, during her visit to Jerusalem. "Military actions must be proportionate, and Israeli strikes on Syria and Lebanon risk triggering a new escalation," she stated at a press conference with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.
Avichay Adraee, Arabic-language spokesperson for the Israeli army, announced on X that the army’s 36th Division began preparations to “carry out military activities in the Southern Command”, in the Gaza strip.
The 36th division, Adraee added, was deployed to south Lebanon for several months.

Palestinian teenager detained in Israel dies under suspicious circumstances
Walid Khaled Abdallah Ahmed, a 17-year-old prisoner from the occupied West Bank, passed away in the Israeli Megiddo prison, according to Haaretz. The Israeli prison administration stated that his health condition remained confidential for privacy protection reasons.
The Palestinian Prisoners' Club stated that the detainee was arrested on September 30 and had been held in custody until his death. According to the organization, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unknown.

Israel's ongoing bombardment of Gaza has resulted in at least 21 Palestinian deaths across the Strip since the early hours, according to medical sources speaking to Al Jazeera.
Suspected terror attack in north Israel: 1 killed, several injured
One person was killed, and several others were injured in a suspected terrorist attack near the northern Israeli city of Yokne'am on Monday.
Israel police stated that the attacker attempted to run over civilians at a bus stop, then exited his vehicle with a rifle and opened fire. He was then shot by a police officer.
A 70-year-old man, who was critically injured after being shot, died from his wounds, according to the Magen David Adom rescue service. A second victim, a 20-year-old man, was stabbed and is in critical condition, the rescue service added.
Several civilians who were at the bus stop were also injured after being run over. Paramedics are providing medical care at the scene of the attack and transferring victims to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa for further treatment.
Netanyahu will not testify in his trial
Judges have accepted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to refrain from testifying in his criminal trial on Wednesday due to an early vote on a bill aimed at changing the composition of the Israeli judicial selection committee, according to Haaretz.

An Israeli airstrike targeted Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, last night, killing a Hamas official. According to both the Israeli military and the Palestinian movement. Hamas stated that the strike killed Ismail Barhoum, a member of its political wing. He had been receiving treatment at Nasser Hospital "after being seriously injured during an airstrike on his home in Khan Younis on Tuesday," when the Israeli military launched intense airstrikes across the territory following two months of cease-fire, a source within Hamas told AFP. Iran's response to this weekend's escalation in south Lebanon
Iran, being the main supporter of Hezbollah, condemned yesterday the Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon carried out the day before. In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson denounced "a large-scale military aggression," accusing Israel of being "a true threat to international peace and security."
Four dead in US airstrikes on Yemen
Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed that four people were killed and 13 others wounded in U.S. airstrikes in the cities of Sanaa and Saada. According to a statement released late on Sunday by their Health Ministry. "A civilian was killed, and thirteen others were injured, including three children, according to the final toll of the U.S. aggression against a residential building in Sanaa," said Houthi Health Ministry spokesperson Anees Alasbahi.

Egyptian proposal in Gaza cease-fire negotiations
Egypt has submitted a new proposal in the ongoing cease-fire negotiations for Gaza, which states that Hamas will provide detailed information on hostages — both alive and deceased — along with images of them, and that Israel will immediately cease hostilities, according to a source familiar with the details who spoke to Qatari media outlet al-Araby al-Jadeed.
