Beirut muhafez (governor) Marwan Abboud, the city's executive authority, issued a statement on Saturday adjusting parking fees in the capital and specifying rates based on the type of parking facility, whether open-air public lots or underground garages.
Under the new pricing structure, the maximum fee for parking in an open-air lot is set at 100,000 Lebanese pounds (LL) (approximately $1) for up to one hour, 150,000 LL for 1 to 4 hours, 200,000 LL for 4 to 8 hours, and 300,000 LL for 8 to 24 hours. The maximum monthly subscription for such facilities is 1.8 million LL (about $20).
For underground parking, the rates are 150,000 LL for up to one hour, 200,000 LL for 1 to 4 hours, 250,000 LL for 4 to 8 hours, 350,000 LL for 8 to 24 hours, and a maximum monthly subscription of 2.7 million LL (about $30). These rates include valet service.
In addition to setting these fees, the decision requires parking operators to issue a printed receipt to customers upon entry, indicating the vehicle’s arrival time to ensure accurate billing at departure. Parking facilities must also allocate up to 50% of their capacity for monthly subscribers.
Operators have 15 days to comply with the new regulation, designated as Decision No. 70/B, dated January 31, 2025.
