The caretaker Interior Minister Bassam Maoulawi announced Friday that the voter lists for the years 2025-2026 will be accessible starting Saturday, Feb. 1, on the website of the Directorate General of Civil Status, www.dgcs.gov.lb, just a few months before potential municipal elections, which were postponed in 2024 until May 31, 2025, at the latest, due to the war between Hezbollah and Israel.
The election, already postponed in 2022 and then in 2023 for financial reasons, was again postponed by the Constitutional Council for another year due to the security context.
The Directorate General of Civil Status indicated Friday that it had sent disks containing the electoral lists to municipalities, mukhtars, governorates and districts, as well as to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, with a view to making these lists available to voters and making necessary modifications, if needed. The voter lists will be accessible at these locations and online, as well as at Lebanese embassies and consulates worldwide.
The Ministry also called on anyone who has identified errors in their personal information to contact the Civil Status Directorate between Feb. 1 and March 1, 2025. Additionally, CDs can also be purchased from Civil Status for 1 million pounds (11 dollars).
