A four-person Syrian family died of asphyxiation in their sleep from gas and smoke from a fire that broke out in Debbieh, Chouf, reports the state-run National News Agency (NNA).
The fire broke out in a concierge lodge in the Siyar neighborhood of Debbieh on Wednesday night, killing the four residents — a couple and their two children. The municipal police, Civil Defense and security services intervened to extinguish the fire and found the bodies inside the apartment.
The police have opened an investigation.
