Washington shared secret intelligence with Damascus

Several American officials from both the Biden administration and Donald Trump's administration, who has just taken office at the White House, revealed to the Washington Post that intelligence held by the United States on threats from the Islamic State group (IS) in Syria had been transmitted to the new authorities in Damascus. This exchange reportedly helped, according to them, to foil an attack on the Shiite sanctuary of Sayyida Zeinab, on the outskirts of Damascus, at the beginning of the month.
