Israel is set to release Mohammed Tous, the longest-held Palestinian prisoner without interruption, on Saturday, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Club.
Aged 69 and imprisoned since 1985, Tous is a member of Fatah, the movement founded by Yasser Arafat, the historical leader of the Palestinians. He is included on the list of detainees to be freed in exchange for the four Israeli female hostages released Saturday by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the prisoner advocacy group told AFP.
