BEIRUT — Jacqueline Gemayel, daughter of Kataeb party founder Pierre Gemayel and sister of former presidents Amine and Bachir Gemayel, died on Friday, according to the official National News Agency (NNA).
Her funeral will take place today, Friday, at 3 p.m. at the Saint Michel Church in Bikfaya, in the Metn district. Condolences will be received from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the church lounge.
Pierre Gemayel founded the Kataeb in 1936 and played a key role in Lebanon's political landscape until his death in 1984. His son, Bachir Gemayel, was assassinated in 1982, just three weeks after his election as president. Amine Gemayel served as president from 1982 to 1988.
