On Thursday, Jan. 16, the historical leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Massoud Barzani received the head of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, in Erbil. "A small earthquake," noted researcher Cédric Labrousse on X, while some speak of a historic moment. The meeting is unprecedented between the two rival Kurdish leaders on the regional stage.
