Israeli air strikes targeted several sites in Yemen on Thursday, including Sanaa international airport and a power plant, controlled by Houthi rebels, the Israeli army reported and the Houthi-affiliated Al-Massirah channel called the attacks "Israeli aggression."
A Houthi official said at least two people have been killed and many others wounded by Israeli attacks on Sanaa airport earlier today, according to Al Jazeera.
Roughly an hour after the strikes were carried out, the Israeli military confirmed that it had struck multiple targets in Yemen.
According to the Israeli army it struck the Aziz and Ras Kantib power plants, which serve as a central electrical infrastructure for the Houthis, as well as infrastructure at the Hodeidah, A-Salif and Ras Kantib seaports in western Yemen.
Israeli sources allegedly told Haaretz that dozens of Israeli planes took part in the strikes, which caused the closure of the international airport in Saan'a.
Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said that the actions against Israel are effective and will not stop, adding that "Israel knows that it is unable to cope with the challenge posed by the Houthis in Yemen."
