Iraq faces uncertainty about its next steps. Since the start of the war in Gaza over a year ago, Iraq has been making efforts to limit its involvement in the multiple fronts of a conflict that has spread throughout the region.However, the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria on Dec. 8 has raised concerns in neighboring Iraq about the future of the Coordination Framework — the ruling Shiite coalition in Baghdad — and about the sustainability of Iran-backed militias deployed across the country.
