Official operator Ogero announced on its X account on Tuesday that the Amrousieh power station, south of Beirut, had been taken out of service due to a breakdown. “This power plant can no longer provide its services in its region and several surrounding areas,” the statement emphasized.

Ogero assures us that “its teams will work to repair the outage as quickly as possible, as soon as the necessary security clearances allow,” in allusion to the war between Israel and Hezbollah which affects this region among others.

No danger to cell phone networks

In a statement, the Ministry of Telecommunications reassured cell phone users that “the symbols that may appear on their screens near the names of the operators Alfa and Touch are not signs that their phones have been hacked.”

“Codes 05415 and 08415 belong to known networks in Lebanon, while code 30280, which may appear from time to time on the mobile's screen, is linked to a private Cypriot network that is impossible to access,” the ministry explains in its text.

“There is no danger to users' lines or to the two cell phone networks,” the statement added.
