Lebanon's caretaker Minister of Education, Abbas Halabi, announced in a statement on Sunday that classes will proceed as usual on Monday in public and private schools, technical institutes, and universities.

However, Halabi clarified that in areas experiencing tensions, "the decision to suspend classes is left to the administration of the concerned educational institutions, provided that the relevant educational authorities are informed."

This decision comes after Hezbollah bombarded the Haifa region in Israel early Sunday, following a deadly Israeli strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut and the explosions of thousands of the party's communication devices attributed to Israel.

The minister had ordered the closure of all Lebanese schools on Wednesday, the day after the simultaneous explosions of pagers used by thousands of Hezbollah members.
