The Lebanese Army announced the release of an Iraqi man who was kidnapped at the border between Lebanon and Syria in August, according to a statement published on its website on Saturday.
“After multiple raids and arrests, an [Army] intelligence patrol succeeded in freeing, on the Lebanese-Syrian border, an Iraqi kidnapped on Aug. 24, 2024 by a gang that had demanded a high ransom for his release,” the statement read.
"Those arrested have been transferred to the courts, and work continues to arrest the rest of those involved," the text continued.
