BEIRUT — Dar al-Fatwa announced that Mawlid al-Nabawi (the birth of Prophet Muhammad) will be observed on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, according to a statement relayed by the state-run National News Agency (NNA) on Wednesday.
The commemoration of the birth of the Prophet is a public holiday in Lebanon.
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian extended his congratulations to "all Lebanese and especially Muslims on this blessed occasion," and prayed for "peace, security and stability for Lebanon and the region."
