BEIRUT — Three days into Israel's war on Gaza, following Hamas' Oct. 7 al-Aqsa Flood operation, L’Orient Today spoke to photographer Omar al-Qatta from his home in central Gaza City. It was Oct. 10 and Omar said: “We’re in a genocide. You can't imagine how bad everything is.”By late-January, the International Court of Justice would rule that it was “plausible” Israel was committing genocide against Palestinians, but Omar's experience on the ground spoke for itself. “I've witnessed many military operations, but I haven't seen anything like this barbarity and madness before,” he had said before the first week had even passed.
