BEIRUT — Upon instructions from caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, the Permanent Mission of Lebanon in New York submitted on Monday a complaint to the Security Council regarding the Israeli warplanes’ violation of Lebanon's air space which is causing repeated sonic booms.

In the complaint, Lebanon said this constitutes a Security Council Resolution 1701 violation.

Since the conflict erupted in southern Lebanon last October, alongside the Gaza war, Israeli fighter jets have repeatedly broken the sound barrier over Lebanese air space, particularly over Beirut in recent days. They have caused loud explosions, spreading fear among residents. Occasionally, they have led to injuries and property damage.

This "sonic boom" seems to be part of Israel’s psychological warfare against Lebanon.
