The Lebanese Army neutralized an unexploded Israeli missile in Hilan, in the Zghorta district, on Monday, according to our correspondent in North Lebanon.
"On Aug. 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM, an army unit will detonate an unexploded missile left by the Israeli enemy in the Hilan-Zghorta area," the Lebanese Army announced in a statement. A military spokesperson later confirmed to our correspondent that the mission had been completed.
The unexploded projectile had been discovered on Aug. 9 between the towns of Miriata and Terbol. This incident coincided with an Israeli strike on the Syrian airbase of al-Shayrat in Homs province. The Lebanese Army quickly deployed to the scene and established a security cordon.
The army also announced that on Aug. 13 and 14, from 7:00 a.m. to midnight, it will conduct daytime and nighttime aerial exercises in the Akoura firing range, including live ammunition and rocket firing.
