The Israeli army fired a stun grenade toward a journalist as well as three shots into the air near the Lebanon-Israel border on Friday, according to a source within Lebanese Army intelligence.
The incident took in the vicinity of the town of al-Hamames, facing the Israeli settlement of Metula. No injuries were reported.
"The Israeli enemy fired a stun grenade and three shots in the air near a journalist from NBN channel, Hassan Fakih, while he was reporting on the 2006 war," Ali Chaib, a correspondent for the Hezbollah-affiliated al-Manar channel, wrote on Twitter.
NBN channel is owned by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
The incident took place near the village of Ghajar, part of which was annexed by Israel in early July. The contested Alawite village, located on the border between Lebanon and the Syrian Golan Heights, is intersected by the UNIFIL Blue Line. At the beginning of the month, it was completely cut off from Lebanon after the Israeli army constructed a fence north of the town. Hezbollah denounced the construction of the fence.
Tensions near the border have been escalating in recent weeks. On Wednesday afternoon, Hezbollah members were injured by Israeli gunfire in the area of Boustan in South Lebanon.
On July 6, the Israeli army conducted airstrikes on South Lebanon in response to an unclaimed anti-tank missile launch, which they alleged originated from Lebanese territory.
