BEIRUT — The Energy Ministry announced a sharp increase in fuel prices on Wednesday afternoon, pushing gasoline again above LL2 million again.
The Lebanese lira, which gained value overnight, depreciated on the parallel market Wednesday, trading around LL114,000 on the dollar. The lira plummeted to a record low of LL140,000 on Tuesday.
Here are the new prices:
• Twenty liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL2,064,000, up by LL127,000
• Twenty liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL2,112,000, up by LL128,000
• Twenty liters of diesel: LL1,937,000, up by LL119,000
• The price of a domestic gas cylinder: LL1,360,000, up by LL83,000
• Kiloliter of fuel oil (used to supply private generators) unchanged at $789.24
