BEIRUT — After a morning marked by a surge in fuel prices, gasoline, diesel and gas recorded a significant drop during the afternoon at around 4 pm before recording a slight increase around 5:30 pm, according to two different tariffs published by the Ministry of Energy. The prices of fuel oil used by private generators, priced in dollars, have increased slightly.
Early in the afternoon, upon Banque du Liban's intervention, the rate of the Lira appreciated against the dollar, which had fallen sharply in the morning.
Here are the new prices, with their variation compared to the morning tariffs.
- 20 liters of 95 octane gasoline: LL 2,080,000, down by LL254,000
- 20 liters of 98 octane gasoline: LL 2,130,000, down by LL260,000
- 20 liters of diesel (for vehicles): LL 1,954,00, down by LL238,000
- Domestic gas cylinder: LL 1,312,000, down by LL226,000
- Kiloliter of fuel oil (used to supply private electric generators): $789.24, up by $5
