BEIRUT — As part of her prosecution of several banks, Judge Ghada Aoun, the attorney general of Mount Lebanon, postponed scheduled hearings to Friday, Feb. 17, according to "The People Want Reforms" group, a collective that files complaints against Lebanon's banks and bank officials.

The postponement aims to give additional time to notify banks that still refuse the decision to lift the banking secrecy on some of their accounts.

According to the collective, "Banque du Liban, BLOM bank and the Crédit Bancaire, have shown their willingness to comply with the decision to lift the banking secrecy, contrary to the directives of the Association of Banks in Lebanon."

Due to this ongoing tension with Judge Aoun, Lebanon's banks continue to observe their open strike that started Thursday.
