BEIRUT — A Syrian farm worker was killed on Friday in a landmine explosion in the village of Wazzani, South Lebanon, the state-run National News Agency reported.

According to the NNA, the man had been aboard a tractor in an agricultural area of the village.

Unexploded landmines remain in some parts of Lebanon after wars in recent decades and continue to claim victims. Demining operations conducted by UN teams and the Lebanese Army, however, have cleared many of these devices.
